What the Foundation does

The Arkansas Zoological Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to grow and develop the Little Rock Zoo. The Zoo's mission is to inspire people to value and conserve our natural world, and the Foundation is here to support that mission by providing meaningful financial support for programs and capital upgrades.

The Little Rock Zoo is a City of Little Rock facility. Its operating budget covers the essentials of running a zoo — but it was never designed to fund a new habitat, a redesigned entrance, or a statewide education program. That is the gap the Foundation exists to close.

We do it by raising private support: from individuals who give once a year, from families who create a lasting tribute at the Zoo, from businesses that sponsor our events, and from donors who choose to include the Zoo in their estate plans.

Accountability

The Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, EIN 35-2241655, governed by a volunteer board of directors drawn from the Central Arkansas business and civic community. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
